Media Suicide by Trump

Whio-TV News Set  Ed! at English Wikipedia
For decades legacy media have been a kind of symphony orchestra that performed hymns to the Left. They played well, forte and were consistently perfect in meter and pitch.  But there is a new conductor in town, and he has provided scores with unfamiliar notation they haven't learned how to read.  What were once melodic concerts have become a cacophony that their former audiences are, increasingly, no longer willing to hear.

Well, it's a metaphor, but it makes the point that the media does not know how to understand President Donald Trump and his core of support between the coasts.  The default reaction has been rooted in the onset of outrage, bewilderment and pure, hysterical Trump hatred.  Public confidence in legacy media has plummeted.  Though the decline in trust is not new, early indications are that the
presidential election of 2016 was a watershed.

Ironically, legacy media, in their joyful efforts to expose the Republican candidate to ridicule, contributed significantly in print and TV to Trump's election.  Driven by ratings, on the one hand, and delighted facination with the certainty of the famous buffoon's election day failure at the polls, on the other gave Trump unprecidented coverage.

Once the election was over the customary cabal of journolists rushed in to spread their scripted and uniform messages of national doom.  Endlessly repeating focus-group words and phrases -- unfit to lead, unhinged, not legitimate, intellectually impaired, incompetent, ignorant, deranged, psychotic -- all projections of the Left's own deficiencies, in every venue, old media grew tiresome and tedious.  And much of the public (ignorant and uniformed as they are seen to be) became weary and correctly saw through their transparent dishonesty.  So long as the mainstream keeps digging, let us not distract them.
